From TestFlight to Top Charts: The Pre-Launch Screenshot Checklist

Run this checklist on your App Store and Google Play screenshots before you submit. Most teams catch at least one fixable issue.

Visual

1. Slot 1 has a single, clear, benefit-led headline.
2. The first three slots are visible above the fold on iPhone 16 Pro Max.
3. The status bar in every screenshot is clean (full battery, no carrier name).
4. Headlines are at least 60 pt and survive Google's downsampling.
5. Every screenshot uses the same dominant brand color.
6. Device frames are consistent across the whole set.

Technical

1. PNG-24 sRGB, no transparency.
2. Exact pixel dimensions for each device size (App Store Connect rejects mismatches).
3. Filenames don’t contain spaces (some upload tools choke).
4. Each file is under 8 MB.

Legal / brand

1. No competitor logos visible inside screenshots.
2. Localized screenshots use native, not machine-translated, copy.

Final review

Open the App Store Connect / Play Console preview after upload and look at the gallery on a phone. The above-the-fold experience is what matters.
