Portrait 1320 × 2868 — the canonical size Apple uses to render across all newer iPhones in App Store search.
Portrait 1290 × 2796 — fallback for the 6.9" if you don't ship that size.
Portrait 1284 × 2778 or 1242 × 2688 — required if your minimum supported device falls in this range.
Portrait 2064 × 2752 (M4) or 2048 × 2732 — required if your app supports iPad.
As of 2026, App Store Connect requires at least one screenshot set for iPhone. The recommended canonical size is the 6.9" iPhone (iPhone 16 Pro Max) at 1320 × 2868 portrait. If you don't ship that, App Store Connect falls back to the 6.7" set (1290 × 2796). For older devices, you can optionally upload 6.5" (1284 × 2778 or 1242 × 2688) and 5.5" (1242 × 2208). All screenshots must be sRGB PNG or JPEG, with no transparency. If you upload only the 6.9" set, Apple downsamples for older devices, but uploading native sizes for the popular displays (6.9", 6.7" and 5.5") gives the sharpest presentation across the install base.
If your app supports iPad, App Store Connect requires at least one iPad screenshot set. The canonical size for 2026 is the 13" iPad Pro (M4) at 2064 × 2752 portrait. The 12.9" iPad Pro at 2048 × 2732 is still accepted. The 11" iPad Pro / iPad Air uses 1668 × 2388 or 1640 × 2360 portrait. If you support both phones and tablets but only have iPhone visuals, you must still ship at least one iPad screenshot — Apple does not accept iPad listings with only iPhone screenshots.
App Preview videos are optional but boost install conversion by 15-30% in our internal tests. They use the same dimension table as screenshots, with a max length of 30 seconds and an MP4 / M4V container with H.264 video and AAC audio. AppScreenStudio's storyboard helpers keep the visual hooks of your App Preview consistent with your screenshot set so the gallery feels like one cohesive story.
The three mistakes that cause the most App Store Connect rejections in 2026: (1) screenshots with the device's status bar showing real carrier info or low battery — Apple wants a clean status bar; (2) PNGs with transparency — App Store Connect strips alpha and produces ugly artifacts; (3) screenshots that don't match the language of the localization — every locale you publish must have native-language screenshots. AppScreenStudio handles all three automatically when you export.
